M.D., : “Is depression a Risk Factor for Dementia?”

Depression mostly disables a person mostly in what a person has  a hard time doing in things like concentration, cognitive slowing, difficulties with decision making, and poor concentration, and other difficulties that an individual will show. Medical Doctor, Eugene Rubin who specializes in Demystifying Psychiatry, states in his article tSome individuals experience a single depressive episode lasting several months, while others may suffer from recurrent episodes or chronic symptoms. ”

He also states that, genetics often plays a role in depression. Environmental stressors may increase the likelihood of a depressive episode. But does it increase chances of dementia? Researchers say yes.

Archana Singh0-Manouz and colleagues have revisited this question of whether depressive episodes during middle age or later are related to the development of dementia.
“Psychologytoday.com” states that a study was conducted in England over 10,00 individuals between the ages of 35 and 55 were evaluated. Based on scores from questionaires, the investigators defined the presence or abscence of depressive symptoms.

The article states that by 2015, 322 individuals in the study had developed dementia.

What is dementia. For some of you who don’t really know what dementia is, some of the symptoms of dementia are as followed.

Dementia is a collection of symptoms that can occur due to a variety of possible diseases
Dementia symptoms include impairments in though, communication, and memory.
